Trophies

No wonder why a trophy wife is regarded as a status symbol for an old man and correlates with the Greek and Roman origin of the word, when weapons of a defeated army were set up as a memorial of victory. From the 15th century when the word was first recorded up to the present it carries the meaning of an object serving as a price for a victory or success archived. In regards to young women becoming a trophy who is objectifying whom, as everybody seem to be all right with the status attained.
